Draft Agenda:
Formal agenda will be handed out at this meeting.
Join the Korea Peace Network in Washington, D.C. on June 11-12 for advocacy training and lobby days to urge the U.S. to sign the Korea peace treaty! Because the United States is a signatory on the cease-fire that halted the Korean War, President Trump’s signature is required to declare an end to the War, and turn the armistice into a peace treaty.
On Monday, June 11, peace advocates will meet in D.C. for a strategy meeting and advocacy training. The following day, Tuesday, June 12, the group will hold lobby meetings with members of Congress and the Trump administration.
Register here to participate in the advocacy training and lobby days!
As we witness increased dialogue between South and North Korea, and between the U.S. and North Korea, the time is ripe for renewed peace. Advocate with us for peace this June 11 and 12!
The Walk for Peace & Unity is an event being held to bring peace organizations, local advocates, student bodies, young professionals, and passionate communities together to call for peace. With the world’s eyes on North and South Korea, and the newly developing peace treaty after 65 years of division, we call for true unity and your support for continuous dialogue from Washington D.C. Our goal is to bring together the masses to celebrate peace building, encourage dialogue, to foster awareness, and to inspire passion – in efforts to provoke conversations that matter. By gathering hearts and walking as one, we can make our voice for peace heard.
The November meeting of the Fairfax Greens is cancelled in favor of an early December meeting/Holiday party. Have a good Thanksgiving and we’ll see you on December 2nd!
